Dear ACM Chicago members,
Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Henrietta (Hettie) Dombrovskaya, and I am a newly appointed ACM Chicago Chapter Communications Chair.
I am delighted to bring to the ACM Chicago Chapter my over forty years of experience as a researcher, educator, and practitioner in Data Management and Information Systems. Throughout my career, I strived to bring together scientific research and industry best practices and sought opportunities to connect people from both communities.
Currently, in addition to being a Database Architect at DRW Holdings and an ACM Chicago Communications Chair, I am also a local organizer of the Chicago PostgreSQL User Group and a founder of Prairie Postgres, a non-profit organization with the goal to support education in PostgreSQL and other Open Source systems.
In this capacity, I would like to invite you to participate in the following events:
PG Day Chicago 2025 will take place on April 25 at 540 W.Madison Chicago Il 60661. This is a full-day two-tracks event focused on PostgreSQL - the most advanced Open Source relational database.
Prior to this event, on April 24, Prairie Postgres is organizing a Student PG DATA Day - a day of training for students, young professionals, and anyone who is new to PostgreSQL. Details are available on the
Prairie Postgres website. Training is free, but registration is required - you can find the registration form
here. Students who sign up for the training have an option to receive a 50% discount off the regular PG Day ticket price ($75 instead of $150).
Please consider taking advantage of these opportunities. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions at
het...@prairiepostgres.org.
