The UChicago Go Club is honored to host the 2026 Midwest Open on January 31–February 1, 2026, at the University of Chicago campus! This is one of the biggest Go tournaments of the year, and it's being held in Chicago for the first time. Join us for two days of intense, fun, and competitive Go in one of the most beautiful and historic academic settings.

A NEW GO SERVER!

Matthew and his team have been building a Go server for people to learn, play, and watch Go!
They are looking for people to try it out as they touch things up for their official launch early this year.

AMERICAN GO HONOR SOCIETY CHAMPIONSHIP - DEADLINE IN 2 DAYS!

Dear Players,

Calling the best youth Go players (under 19) in North America! We are excited to announce the 2026 AGHS Championship Tournament Qualifier!

Players who qualify will earn a spot in the 2026 AGHS Championship Tournament, the most prestigious event honoring the top youth Go players in North America. Qualified competitors will have the opportunity to play for cash prizes and certain games will be live-streamed on Twitch with professional commentary, giving players a chance to showcase their skills on a national stage.

The rules are outlined in this document. As stated in the rules document, the top two players in the top four divisions will be chosen for the AGHS Championship Tournament in February. Players will be split into two groups based on rank and then registration date. ONLY the top group will serve as the qualifier for the AGHS Championship Event in February. However, both sets are eligible for prizes. So register EARLY.

If you are interested in participating in the 2026 AGHS Championship Tournament Qualifier, please remember to sign up by filling out this form. The deadline is Thursday, January 22nd at 11:59 P.M. PST. Register as soon as possible to ensure eligibility to compete in the Championship, as it will be decided on a first come first serve basis.

Round Schedule:

Round 1: January 25th, 12 PM EST (9 AM PST)
Round 2: January 25th, 3 PM EST (12 PM PST)
Round 3: February 1st, 12 PM EST (9 AM PST)
Round 4: February 1st, 3 PM EST (12 PM PST)
