Hi,

I would like to ask if there is a way to combine two transcripts with
similar main tiers, but with different dependent tiers?

I have two transcripts that contains the same main tiers (child
utterances, adult utterances etc); however, the transcripts were
analyzed differently. one transcript was analyzed in terms of
semantics, as such we created a %sem dependent tier for it. The other
was analyzed in terms of syntax and has the %mor tiers. Would it be
possible to combine them so as to obtain a transcript that contains
both %sem and %mor?

Thank you very much,

Ivan Bondoc

Ivan,

RELY with +a option can do that. Here is the command.

rely file_with_%sem.cha file_with_%mor.cha -a +t%mor

This assumes that all speaker tiers are exactly the same.

Leonid.
