Hi,
Can someone please tell me how to code years (e.g., 2012)? Is it two_thousand_twelve or some other way?
Many thanks,

Dear Kimberly,

In CHAT, all dates and numbers should be coded as they are spoken with each word as a separate word, as in
“two thousand twelve”  or “nine hundred ninety nine and a half”

Doing this provides a clear input to counts such as MLU and facilitates analysis through MOR.  It also properly represents the spoken form.
