cannot load lexicon in the german morphological tagger

Hi,
I have used successully the german mor tagger in the past in CLAN.
However, I just installed the new CLAN and when I tried to use the
function, it says: "loading lexicon 2400" and CLAN closes. It used
successfully the lexicon (just the line above this error message) so I
don't really understand the issue. Can anybody help me? I would truly
appreciate it. Thanks.

Xuan-Nga,

Please tell me what computer you are using, i.e. Mac or PC. Where did
you get german lexicon. Is this your own copy, in which case please zip it
and email it to me. Or did you download it from childes' web URL:

http://childes.psy.cmu.edu/morgrams/

I have just download german lexicon from URL above and ran MOR on my Mac.
While CLAN did not crash or closed it did find a lot of errors in feature
structure and category specifications.

Dear Xuan-Nga,
The German MOR follows most rules for MOR grammars and the
categories are well structured, but some things should probably be
fixed or changed.
It would take about a week for me to fix everything.
Unfortunately, I cannot work on this now. So, hopefully you can
struggle through with this grammar
in its present shape and I could work on this in April.

I use Windows XP and I downloaded it from the childes website. Mine
just crashes when it tries to load the lexicon so I can't even tag the
file.

Xuan-Nga,

German grammar had some errors that MOR did not antcipate and that is
why CLAN crashed. Brian MacWhinney has fixed german grammar and installed it
on chidles web site at http://childes.psy.cmu.edu/morgrams/. I have also
fixed MOR to be able to deal with these kind of lexicon errors if they
occure again. Please get new german grammar and CLAN from childes web site.
