Hello everyone.

I start using ChiantiPy before I found the differential
emission measure and I've using the form:

input = sum(Volume*density^2)/(4*pi*distance^2)/Temperature

And now I'm working with some simulations that make
me doubt about it. Is the form correcto to use in the
emission measure input to obtain synthetic spectrum?

Thank you in advance.

Hi Sandino,

Thanks for your question. I suggest checking CHIANTI Technical Report No. 3 (https://zenodo.org/records/10452660), which explains how a synthetic spectrum is computed in CHIANTI. Normally we use column emission measure, but Sect. 10 of the document gives the conversion factor for the volume emission measure.
