Hi everyone.

Recently I have received several requests from people asking to be added to the Chiang Mai orality "newsletter" list. I'd just like to remind everyone that this is not a newsletter, but a discussion group. There is only content if the members of the group provide it. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to post information or questions regarding orality and storytelling.

You may also invite others to join, but please make sure you tell them that it is a discussion group, not a newsletter. On the other hand, if anyone wants to use this group like a newsletter, please feel free to do so! Just stay on topic.

I'm open to suggestions about how to make the group more useful to everyone, but to be honest, I don't have time to keep the group alive all by myself, so think of suggestions that will contribute to this being a functional GROUP, not just an information source driven by one or two people.

Thanks!

Mimi

Hi Everyone,

I'd like to introduce you to one of our latest offerings at Bridgemaker.  Yes, we have the Megavoice. [www.megavoice.com] which has been a standard player for many orality-based mission groups.

Here's something for the orality practitioner.

This unit will come with a 8Gb MicroSD card with the Bible [Choose from English, Thai or Mandarin].  {You could download many versions for free at www.faithcomesbyhearing.com}  I can also add other resources like the Mini Bible College [www.minibiblecollege.org], etc.  Just get back to me.
The numeric keypad allows you to access all 1189 chapters in the Bible instantly.
It is easily rechargeable, portable, has an FM radio AND A "VOICE RECORDING" FEATURE.  So for you orality practitioners, you can record up to the limit of the space in your MicroSD card.

All for only 500bt.

Hello Nathaniel,

I'm very interested; maybe sold on the Megavoice.  Being quite technically challenged, this sounds simple.  We are storying among the Northern Khmer speakers in Surin Province and I think something like this would help in several ways.  I would like to have the Mini Bible College on one too.  I took courses from Dick Woodward ions ago thru MBC when I lived not far from him in Va., USA.

Anyway, how can I order one of these with the Bible in Thai and one with the Bible in English, the English one having the MBC lessons on it?  We would then want to download our stories and songs in NK and the Bible in NK recorded by Faith Comes by Hearing.  I know someone here who could help me do that.

Is it a matter of depositing the money in your account?  Please let me know.

Thank you so much for letting us know of this.

In Him,

Ginny

HI Nathaniel,

We will all show up at your place, church around 10am? Maybe a little before that.  Look forward to seeing you and spending time together.  They are a great bunch of young people.

See you tomorrow morning.

Blessings,

Kennedy
