Our group now has over 60 members, and I think a few introductions would help us get to know each other and benefit from this network. As an introduction to the group, several of us in Chiang Mai, Thailand started this as an email list in order to share information about orality events happening in this area. However, the list has grown and it now seems that much of what we post here is of interest beyond just Chiang Mai, so the scope has widened. At the moment, I am the owner of the group, and Larry Dinkins and Dan Edwards are managers. If anyone else has experience with Google Groups and would like to help out, just speak up!
Any member of the group can post comments or start new topics, either on the webpage, or via email by writing to chiang-mai-orality-network@googlegroups.com. You can also direct others to our group, but one of the managers needs to approve or invite all new members.
Hi ya’ll
Marianne Chiong here from the Philippines. Several of you have introduced yourself and requested more introductions. Not sure if I can remember everybody.
Anyway, I work with our team in the Philippines in translation, literacy and Bible storying. I took my first Onestory and STS in Dallas in 2008 and got so sold on oral Bible storying that we made an adapted version for our minority groups in the Philippines. We call it simply the Word STW. Our focus is on training trainers who can train trainers in story telling.
We have experimented with making a training program on video, developing more original songs for each story etc. All I can say is oral Bible storying seems to be one of the most effective methods to get the Word into the hearts of the people and enable non-literate people to share the word with confidence. At the same time lives are being transformed and people won into the kingdom. I hope I can come to Chiang Mai some day soon to learn more about story telling. This is all for today, Blessings, Marianne

Hi all
Utomo here from TWR Indonesia. Went to Chiang Mai mid last year to learn about Onestory, and it was just a confirmation on what I have already believed that orality is a very important part in sharing the Gospel in Asian context, especially Indonesian context , both for the literates and illiterates alike.
Still trying to learn more about how to do the Onestory concepts in my work in TWR. Will try get in touch with our partners.
Really happy to have this forum as a place to share and learn.
Thank you
Utomo
