Itinerary: 8th International and 64th National Chian Convention

The “Chios Societies of America and Canada, Inc.” cordially invites all fellow Chians and their friends to attend the 8th International and 64th National Chian Convention that will be held in Chios, from July 30 – August 5, 2019.  Every four years, the international convention returns us to our roots, to the place where our parents and grandparents were born, and to introduce our children, friends, and relatives to Chios, the place we all love.

On the evening of Tuesday, July 30th, the official opening ceremony will take place at the Homeric Cultural Centre in Chios. On Wednesday, July 31st, we will be hosting a beach party for young adults. On Thursday, August 1st, the delegate meeting will take place in the morning at the Mastic Museum of Chios in Pyrgi, a UNESCO Recognized Site, where the Delegates and their families are invited to tour the museum.  A tour of the village of Pyrgi will follow the meeting and in the evening visiting Mesta Square for a concert.  On Friday, August 2nd, everyone is invited to join us on an excursion to the Islands of Oinousses for a day at the beach.  On Saturday evening, August 3rd, we will attend and support the Enosis Omogenon Society’s Annual Dance.  On Sunday, August 4th there will be an Environmentalist Outing and Clean-Up of Plastic Waste on Chian Beaches.  The Convention concludes on Monday, August 5^th, our second excursion is to Kambia Ravine, also a UNESCO Recognized Site for its environmental uniqueness. This will feature a fundraiser for the Special Needs Children of Chios. 

 

The Supreme Lodge and Board of Directors are looking forward to seeing all members, their families, and friends, at the Convention, so that we may continue this tradition and see forth our ongoing efforts to achieve our goals as Chians. The Convention will be a great opportunity for all Chians from the United States and Canada to meet other Chians from Europe, Africa, and Australia.
