For Sale: 2 general admission tickets

September 20th - 7:30pm

Old Town School of Folk Music

4544 N. Lincoln Ave

Chicago, IL

$22

Call toll free 1-866-898-5915

Due to conflicting activities, I am forced to part with this pair of tickets
for this concert. If you've never attended the Old Town School it is a
great place to hear music as the acoustics are suberb and the intimacy makes
every seat a good seat.

Chicago World Music Festival Concert
Afro-Dominican Roots Celebration Featuring:
Super Uba Y Su Conjunto (Dominican)

Super Uba was born and raised in the Dominican Republic, but has lived in
Brooklyn, New York since the mid-nineties. He brings a fresh energy to the
traditional merengue, bachata, and son of his homeland, styles of music that
have their roots in the Dominican countryside. This music of carnival
rhythms, spirited Caribbean guitar grooves, and warm, soulful singing
developed throughout the '60s and '70s as it matured in the streets and the
barrios of Santo Domingo and Santiago. The virtuoso guitar playing of his
longtime friend, Edilio Paredes, complements Uba's singing. Edilio is a
prodigious natural talent who for thirty years was the unchallenged master
of the style that has become known as bachata. Both intricate and sensual,
Edilio's playing combines rhythmic grooves known as mambos into evolving
solos. His original yet firmly traditional arrangements give Uba's songs
another dimension of richness.

Alberto Moreno, "El Bachatín", is a spirited and charismatic performer of
Afro-Dominican roots music. A native of San Pedro de Macoris, a melting pot
of the Dominican Republic's rich and varied music traditions, Moreno's
repertoire includes bachata, merengue, son, and uniquely Afro-Dominican
genres like palo, salve and gagá.

This sounds so cool. AUGH! I'm at work and my newsfeed will deliver the
message later than the one at home.

As it states in the original posting, and on the website, General Admission.

I believe it will be a dance party.
