There is a court order for McGee not to have contact with Monroe.
Howard has admitted guilt to police and on the radio and offered no excuse
(i.e. not using his accusation as a justifiable basis for his actions; it
would be in South America), and was on the air this morning (Thursday) to
apologize for his actions
CrazyHoward McGee was the no. 1 rated afternoon jock for WGCI until he took
over the morning shift this January, where he is no. behind Bob Collins
(720AM)
Its interesting on the two ways the incident was reported:
The Sun-Times put it in the Metro section, and wrot e it up as a standard
police story, giving Howard McGees general home address. witholding the
Cynthias name. The story also gave details as to why the incident occured
(Howard,a ccording to the story, was arguing because he believed Cynthia was
being unfaithful).
The Tribune put it in their Media Watch column in the business section, and
made it seem much less criminal (and respecting his privacy in not giving
his address), but also didnt note why McGee would have acted as he did.
McGee had several people onhis show, including his motherhis ex-wife and a
former girlfriend, who defended his overall character and expressed shock at
what he did.
So far, there has been no action taken by WGCI management in regard to
Howard McGee.
McGee has a court date pending on October 1. He is (and has been) free on
bond.
Local media questions:
Was Crazy Howard on Wednesday? I didnt have the radio on that morning...did
he report in to work, or did he have to miss a morning?
Has Mancow on Q101 made any comments about it? Howard McGees audience is
much different than Mancows...but considering Mancows negativity and
willingness to say anything under the guise of free speech he must have said
something on his show
How have other radio stations reacted? (Like B-96, which vies for some of
the same audience)?
How about other media (such as the Chicago Defender)? What do they have to
say?
Despite all this, Crazy Howard is still my favorite radio personality...

******So who are you following today? *************
Accusing the women in their lives of unfaithfulness is one of the primary
weapons used by batterers in their attempts to control women. Don't get too
excited that he offered up an *excuse* for his behavior, he's just being
consistent to the profile.
Just wondering...??

Judge Ursula,
The accucsation of unfaithfulness was what he told the police soon after the
incident; on the air Howard McGee said there was no excuse for what he had
done.
Also, his ex-WIFE and an ex-girlfriend both testified to Howard's
character....does THAT fit the profile, Doctor?

Henceforth, he will be "Violent" Howard McGee.
Thank you.
LOL!

How about "Incarcerated" Howard McGee.
Hit a woman, go to jail. Why the hell not?

jp, are you assuming other men who have battered women lack three
dimensionality, lack the charm to have friends, lack "character references"? I
realize you would like to separate out a favorite radio personality from the
pack of men who have battered women, but I didn't put him in that pack---he
made his choice. And the "pack" isn't some nice tight unit that stands far
away from McGee. It covers a broad spectrum of men, many of whom accuse the
women in their lives of adultery, many of whom have the presence of mind to
apologize. (btw, I've never been a "judge," only a lawyer; and I'm such a
newly minted doctor I'm surprised you knew)
I don't know if he's ever raised a fist to a woman before. I don't think it's
impossible for him to never raise a fist again. I only meant to say that men
who batter use jealousy, accusations of infidelity, in attempts to control the
women in their lives, trying to make the woman's social circle smaller and
smaller and the batterer's domination greater and greater.

Seems to me, if "Crazy Howard" wanted control over
something, he would have purchased a dog.
Why waste the effort on a woman?
