Required Skills:
1. Four years experience in software development or a related field.
2. BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field.

3. Knowledge of software development using UNIX and/or Microsoft
Windows.
4. Thorough knowledge of Visual Basic (VB) programming languages.
5. Experience developing unit test scripts, and executing tests.
6. Knowledge and experience developing detailed designs for software
components.

Desirable Skills:
1. Experience performing high-level cross-component design.
2. Experience developing test plans for software components.
3. Knowledge of object-oriented design techniques.
4. Experience developing GUI applications.
5. Experience developing RDBMS applications.
6. Knowledge of modeling/simulation, insurance industry, and/or
structural analysis.
7. Use of a structured metholology and full project life cycle
experience.

Primary Responsibilities:
1. Develop detailed designs for software components using structured
and object oriented techniques.
2. Code and debug software components using Visual Basic (VB5) and/or
other tools.
3. Conduct code walk-throughs, document, and follow-up on issues.
4. Design user interfaces for software components.
5. Develop detailed unit test plans for software components.
6. Develop test applications and infrastructure for software
components.
7. Perform detailed unit testing of software components.
8. Prepare detailed technical documentation for software components.
9. Execute systems test of integrated software components.
10. Develop detailed plans for completion of individual tasks of sets
of tasks.
11. Provide input to and review of user documentation.
12. Track and accurately report status of assigned tasks.
13. Track defects and their resolutions.

Secondary Responsibilities:
1. Gather and analyze user requirements.
2. Conduct user feedback sessions, document results, and follow up on
issues.
3. Develop high-level designs for components and related sets of
components.
4. Participate in design reviews of software components and
subsystems.
5. Develop system test plans and testing assets.
6. Provide key input to the continuous improvement of the development
process.
