When you are looking for an Internet access provider, go to the place
with the most listings: thedirectory.

With over 5,700 different Internet ACCESS providers, it dwarfs all
other lists (by far). For most listings we give you all the important
contact information: name; voice and fax numbers; locations where service
is provided; their web page URL, email address, telnet address, and ftp
address; etc.
We have listings for over 100 countries. Each listing is of a service
that actually has a *physical* presence in that country. We don't pad our
country list with *satellite* service listings that obviously serve
*every* country on the planet. Satellite services should be listed
separately (and only once) not for every country in existence. Listing
every country may LOOK impressive but it is deceptive (and IMO) dishonest
when for the majority of the listed countries there is only one listing -
the same satellite company.
Our total of over 5,700 different providers does not include many,
many bogus listings nor does it include systems that don't provide
Internet ACCESS services. The bogus and non-access provider companies in
other lists are *padding* that make the list hard to use and are also used
to artificially increase their list total. We use other means to detect
improper usage, and those means do NOT cause you any problems in using our
list.
As you can see, we take our time to provide you a quality list of
ACCESS providers without garbage (bogus and improper listings) strewn
throughout. We spend hundreds of hours a month actually working on it.
Although certain processes involve automation (such as the actual
production of the web page lists you see) the research and data entry are
done manually.
Finally, we have now added a new category: Web Presence Providers.
These listings are of web hosting and web page design services. This
category is under development but we already have over 1,500 providers
listed. Note that companies listed in this category are NOT included in
the total of 5,700 different Internet ACCESS providers unless they also
provide ACCESS services.
