(* This is a service that lets you call a number from elsewhere, enter your

forwarding.)
Can anyone recommend a good, simple, and inexpensive CF box that I can use
that will answer a line and dial out on a 2nd line? Needs remote control
of course but don't need any other features. I would probably keep telco
CF but use this in situations where I would have used remote access in the
past.

I have XO for my biz lines just for this reason.
I don't recall when, but it was because remote-callback was being used
to perpetrate fraud using others' call-back numbers. Clarification?

This was recently ruled illegal in California.

You can still get it in CA:

It says you have to call to order.

I found a similar thing on the web page after indicating Illinois. But
must not be available on my switch as the people I talked to said it
doesn't even appear on their computers as an offered service. Anyway, the
web page indicated 19.95 per month. That can't be right, can it? I'm
going with a call diverter box. May keep but telco CF but the box may come
in handy at times.
That looks like just the ticket. I may be able to pick up a Telematrix
diverter box for dirt cheap. But presuming you get what you pay for I may
well be getting the Viking anyway. I'll give the former a shot first
though.
