Heh.

Doing a little reading, I was unaware of the ring worm that is
potentially fatal to humans in coon shit. I saw one running around in
the daytime a few weeks back in the neighbors yard. For some reason,
they seem to like my oaks at the moment. I suppose if the shit
persists, I'll have to trap and relocate the damn thing. At least there
shouldn't be any young this time of year, I think.

My MIL has a pet coon out in the Black Hills. She also lets it out
whenever the damn thing wants. After the reading on the ring worm, I
hate the thing even more. Stupid thing to have for a pet.

Maybe you can get Nelson to come over and baggy that.

I have tons and tons of wildlife here. This summer I'm feeling like a
wildlife refuge. I have 3 bucks I've never seen before, an assortment of
does, a fox family....mom, dad, and welp, aand a female mountain lion.

Not to mention the usual turkey, coon, and possum population.

I have.....a yardful of shit.

And two labs that sit on the deck and open one eye as the critters are
feeding.

and the bucks will be gone before the season opens up, of course, right?

raccoon roundworm.

coons should be exterminated, they're filthy vermin.

That's pretty aggressive punishment for ignorant folk from the city.

I don't think it is legal to relocate them anymore. Not positive,
though. I think they have to be put down.

I love how the residents of Lake View got a wake up call about "cute"

Probably.

Nature reminds us that we're not the only animals that think about sex.
Bucks go absolutely nuts during rut. It's not unusual to be driving down the
road and come upon a ten pointer just standing in the middle, refusing to
move.

They just totally lose their minds.

There was a doe hanging around the area. At first, the residents were
all "Awwwwww, she's soo kyoooooote".

Then she started eating the hostas.

And she got bumped by a car.

One time, residents managed to corral her into a courtyard building with
a fence, then called Animal Control. AC responded, and set her loose,
telling the residents that they don't have anything to do with wildlife.

It took a while, but a wildlife person came out and caught her. Think
she was let loose in Calvary Cemetery or somewhere with a deer population.

I'd say that the residents of the area learned that Bambi = vermin.

evidently they don't like the smell of garlic. my pops found these things
you attach to a plant (or stick next to one) that slow releases garlic
scent, lasts a whole season. he puts those out to protect his smaller apple
trees from the deer

Nice. Fortunately for my brother the gardener, the deer haven't started
coming his way from the forest preserves. I'll keep the garlic thingies
in mind if they ever start to attack his garden.

24 cents a round in cases.

The tandem and amdahl are made here, so are the keyboard and trackball I'm
using now, and neither are dumpster dives from nelson's basement.

Ron's making a decision to support crackpot assholes when he doesn't have
to. He is hick in tennessee, so I don't expect much more than that though.

I don't think tandem or amdahl exist anymore. They were made here but that
was years ago. What sort of business can survive on hardware that's 10 years
old where they don't have to grow their processing ability?

I prefer U.S. made myself, although sometimes it's pretty hard to find.

Amdahl got bought out by Fujitsu some time ago -- a friend's friend
still amazingly works there in Sunnyvale, but I would seriously doubt
there's any manufacturing done there.

Tandem was started by HP engineers when HP would not support their
idea. HP acquired them in 2002 with the Compaq acquisition. The
product line is called HP Integrity NonStop, but HP sold off all the
Tandem buildings, so who knows where the product is designed and/or
manufactured.
