When I telephoned the AT&T cable hotline, they said it was "formerly Media
One". This prompts the questions for me: Are they running the same equipment?
And is the service being run by the same employees?
Yup! and Yup!
Download data rates are running from 5kbytes/sec. to 12kbytes/sec.,
depending on the time of day and the remote host location, in the Romeoville
area. 340k Seti@home WU's take about 50 sec. to d/l, tho I had one d/l in
about 2 sec.

The deal is pretty good, $19.95 for first 6 months, installation free.
Actually, their customer service is quite decent, except for their poor
poor technical support and long long wating time. My modem test and
cable lights have been interchangingly blinking since they were installed,
even if the modem has been provisioned and shown in their database!
I worked on the cable telephony network management for 2.5 years. I just
don't know who the software provider is for ATT, and I could not imagine
how ATT could step into this market.
Just imagine you go to the BestBuy or CircuitCity, and buy a TV.
After all the hassels of putting it into the car and carrying back to
home, you found it's a DOA. Would you want to get a same brand
again? Probably not, especially if you already have a TV at your
home. For that case, personally I probably choose never because I'm
totally turned off.
Just my opinion only.
