I plan on getting a mobile phone in some form within the next month or so
and PrimeCo looks to be the best for what I need it for (mainly emergency
use, the occasional social call). I was wondering if PCS is all it's
cracked up to be, and how reliable PrimeCo's service is. Or, if anyone
has recommendations for other carriers I should look for. Thanks.

PrimeCo has great coverage in Chicago. I use a lot of airtime, and have
tried Cell one, At&T, and Sprint. PrimeCo sounds the best. What area of
Chicago will you be in? Some area's are better than others.

I'll be working and living in the Northern burbs (living in northbrook,
working in deerfield). Travelling from there to the southwestern burbs on
occasion.

I've had no problems with my PrimeCo service - I live in Schaumburg and work
in Chicago (by O'Hare). I frequent the northern/northwestern/western burbs
without any negative incidents with the service. Earlier on in their
service life, calls would fail to complete/drop completely around busy areas
like Schaumburg - but they must have upgraded their network since then, as
everything seems to be in order now.
