Thank you for everyone that made it out to ChiSec last night! It was a
great turn-out, and lots of fun!

One of the items that was definitely brought up again was the issue of
how the location best suites ChiSec. The Kerryman is a nice location,
as well as Hop Haus, but the problem with both seems to be that people
tend to sit in one spot, and it is not conducive to socializing and
networking with new faces.

Some of the criteria for choosing a new location should be the
following:

1. Centrally located in the city
2. Good variety of drink choices (Not just beer, or just wine)
3. Ample Seating, preferably most lounge-like with high-top tables
that will allow for movement
4. Reasonable sound levels, we should be able to have a normal
conversation without screaming or straining to hear
5. Food selection of some sorts

I am up for some new ideas.

I haven't used this site yet, but I read that it's supposed to be good for helping you to identify locations for this purpose:

Some other options a little north:
Delilah's - upstairs might be a little better for networking. No food, AFAIK.
Sheffield's - back room has a bar and they have food - there is a beer garden when it is not fall/winter.

Not far from Hop Haus:
Fado - they have an upstairs that might be good, also a middle tier area that could fit. they have food.
English - multi-level and food, might be a little loud, never been there on a thursday.

Loop:
Tilted Kilt - heard good things about this place, but it might have nothing to do with food or drink
Sweetwater - saw a review of this place that was good, so photos look like it might be more open for networking
Elephant & Castle(s) - there are a bunch of these sprinkled in the loop
