Good morning,

I am now able to walk pain free and unaided so will be out and about more.

Have also been speaking to Anthony French, re the Crassula weed removal. This is at its worst at the top of Forest Road by the bridge, flowing along behind the houses. It is now spreading into parts of the grounds of Cherry Hinton Hall. The company CGN Group are under instruction from the Drainage Department of the City Council for its removal. According to the CGN Operations Manager, the job is proving rather difficult as there is 'too much silt'. If the men who removing the weed stand in one position for more than a minute, they star to sink up to their waist in water, and still sinking.

According to CGN, as it stands today, from the small weir by the wildlife area to the top of Forest Road, there is too much silt to even attempt any removal. Will keep you informed of any new developments.

Regards,

David.

Hi All,

We have our Community Action Day next Saturday 20th Oct. from 10am so we may be able to pull some of those out by wearing the waders! I noticed there were a few groups of leaves and debris along the brook from the bridge down to Dawes Lane so I will bring my wellies!

Anthony did tell us that the two side sections of the ‘ hammer head ’ section of concrete were being removed but the square will be retained. These sections were add ons.

Did we ever have a walk about after the Folk Festival? I was away so may have missed an email. There seems to be no problems with anything at the moment.

Anthony, will the dead foliage on the wildflower bed be cut down or left to break down? It really has been a glorious collection of plants through the year so far and I look forward to see what grows next!

Best wishes

Sandra

Good morning Anthony.

Just to let you know that there are a number of large tree branches in the lake near to the waterfall.

Also we noted that the concrete area near to the lake area is being dug up.

Lastly, we didn't venture over to the tennis court area but is there a path being built?

Good afternoon Robert,

I trust that you are making steady progress in your recovery from bowl cancer surgery. Instead of looking after the community first, you must now look after yourself first. We will keep you updated on our issues and progress in the grounds of Cherry Hinton Hall and look forward to seeing you out and about in the near future. Take care of yourself and do as you're told! Ha ha.

Regards,

David.

Hi David,

Thanks indeed for the update. And excellent news that you are finally pain free. Will keep my finger’s crossed for things to remain that way!

Best wishes Stuart
