Position Available: Part-time Intake Specialist

Chhaya seeks an intake specialist to be part of its dynamic program team. The intake specialist will work with South Asian and other immigrant clients and assist them with navigating and selecting appropriate counseling program at Chhaya. Candidate will receive necessary training. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, organized individual who is able to multi-task and prioritize to achieve effective results.  

Responsibilities:

·      Field client calls and conduct triage based on urgency of client call;

·      Conduct phone screening and intakes for all programs;

·      Conduct one-on-one intake session with tenants, prospective homebuyers, and at-risk homeowners;

·      Collect and organize intake forms and appropriate documents and copies from clients and create client files;

·      Schedule appointments with appropriate staff;

·      Prepare electronic and hard copy of client file prior to counseling appointment;

·      Conduct relevant research for client cases;

·      Enter client data prior to counseling session with staff;

·      Schedule necessary follow up appointments with counselor;

·      Schedule clients for appropriate workshops;

·      Assist with other program related tasks and projects, as necessary;

 

Qualifications:

We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications-

·      Extremely well organized and detail-oriented;

·      Excellent customer service;

·      Strong interest in immigrant and financial justice issues;

·      Highly self-motivated;

·      Able to work on weekends and weeknights;

·      Strong interpersonal and communications skills;

·      Experience in housing counseling preferred but not required;

·      Multilingual skills in Bengali, Hindi, Nepali, Punjabi or Urdu required;

·      Experience in or familiarity with housing counseling, education or financial services and case management is desirable, but not mandatory.

 

Compensation: $15/hour, minimum 20 hours/week, up to 30 hours/week.

 

Reports to: Chhaya’s Homeownership Program Manager.
