Subject: Update from KTK-BELT

Dear Friends and Family,

We've had a great 24 hours. We'd especially like to thank Amit Shah for the amazing grassroots efforts he is conducting in engaging the global Nepalese community in this campaign.

We're currently at $58,257 from 198 backers. We're pushing for $60,000 and 200 backers in the next 30 minutes. Even while typing this email I've seen there has been un uptick.

After that, all we need to raise is $10,000 more in the next 5 days. As soon as we hit $70,000, $30,000 which has been pledged will be activated, and this campaign will have succeeded. But we can't take it for granted as many crowd funding campaigns fail in these last days because they can't generate the momentum at the very end. We'd obviously like to avoid this scenario.

If you can help out by forwarding the link to 5, 10 or even 100 more people, our challenge is now down from a $100,000 goal to $10,000 in 120 hours:

And please 'like' our Facebook Page and share the links and updates:

If you know of any unions, organizations, volunteer clubs, American Legion groups, Rotarians, businesses, community environmental groups, or other civic associations that might be interested to pitch in, that would be helpful. Please let us know and we can provide more information about the project. If you have any friends or colleagues interested in conservation, education or alternative livelihoods, please do send them the kickstarter link and urge them to back the project.

Attaching photos of our educational plant trail in Yangshila, which will connect our 28 Learning Grounds and where more than 250 plants will be tagged. The prime audience of the 'vertical university' is the local children and youth, and our main inquiry is how to activate indigenous knowledge held by local farmers through place-based education The design elements will be highly detailed and deeply considered, as we have a fabulous team, including local youth fellows and volunteers.  As a backer, you will receive lots of educational and research updates as we develop this prototype and grow the BELT across the eastern region in 2016 and beyond.

Thank you for anything you can do to help out in these last days.

Best Regards,
Priyanka, Rajeev and the KTK-BELT Team
