We are throwing an awesome party at the Den on Saturday, 9/28 from 2pm - 6pm... the 1st Ever Chewbacchus Contraption Contest and Art Bicycle Rally!  Followed by something sort of resembling a parade AND the CD Release Party for the Chewbacchus Benefit Album at Maison on Frenchmen.  Its gonna be a big day.  Hope to see you there.  Details below, flyer attached.  All Hail - Ryan

The Chewbacchus Contraption Contest is OPEN to anyone with a tricked out bicycle or an amazing mobile creation.  Everybody knows that New Orleans is absolutely full of awesome art bicycles and incredible parade contraptions.  This is your chance to show off your radical ride... and maybe even win an amazing prize.  The event also features carnival style games, delicious food from the Rue Chow Food Truck, music by Mic PheDusha, interstellar cocktails, and a custom beer from NOLA Brewing made especially for Chewbacchus... "BacchanALIEN Brew".

The Art Bicycle Rally is FREE and open to the general public, while the entry fee to compete in the contest is only $10 per contraption/bicycle.  Registration for the contest is available online at www.chewbacchus.org or you can register in person on the day of the event.

The Grand Prize Winner will receive a $210 Cash Prize and a 5-person group membership in the Intergalactic Krewe of Chewbacchus (an additional $210 value) which allows them and four of their closest friends to roll in the 2014 Chewbacchus Parade for FREE.  There are also LOTS of other amazing prizes in a wide variety of categories!

Winners will be chosen by the Overlords of Chewbacchus and announced at Maison later that night.

Following the Art Bicycle Rally and Contraption Contest, Chewbacchus has teamed up with the NOLA Social Ride to host a group bicycle ride that will depart from the Den of Muses and end at the Frenchman Street Art Market between 6-8pm.  Beer will flow from the Bar2D2 courtesy of PBR.

The good times culminate at the Chewbacchus CD Release Party from 8pm to 2am at Maison, 508 Frenchmen St., 70116.

For the last several months several of the coolest/nerdiest musicians in NOLA have been secretly conspiring to create a concept album celebrating all things “Chewbacchus”.  This masterwork is finally ready to be revealed to the public!  The evening's entertainment features several of the terrific bands on the album including: Rotary Downs, The Local Skank, The Consortium of Genius (C.O.G.), The Night Janitor, MC Chewbacon & Amen Five, Some Metry Guy, and more!

$5 Cover at the Door.  Individuals who enter the Contraption Contest receive free entry to the CD Release Party.
