Okay...it's not a `59. But a `60 Chevy Station Wagon is close enough for me. Same frame, same dash, same character. Besides, I think readers here will appreciate this sweet machine. I've owned a `60 El Camino. Pretty awesome, once I worked out the countless bugs that the previous owner seems oblivious to. If you don't see the station wagon picture above, check out this link:

This car has to be a real handful to control. Unless it's been stabilized in some way, the wagon probably rolls from side to side when turning corners. Would local law enforcement take kindly to the height of the front suspension if driven on the street? Probably not, unless they're gearheads like the rest of us and have the ability to look away at just the right moment.

To be truthful, I've got a thing for Gassers. It's the nose-up look that makes me think of half the Hot Wheels I owned in the early 1970s. I also have waves of memories that include greenish bulge-eyed monsters holding shifters on crazy-looking street machines designed by Ed "Big Daddy" Roth. It's been heaven for me in the last 6-7 years, as I've seen a resurgence in Gasser-Mania in the media and on the Internet. I would love to own one / build one, simply because they are so out there. Don't know if I would have the guts to convert my `59 Biscayne to look like this `60 Long Roof but if I even get a hold of some early `60s two-door sedan, I guarantee you there would be a Gasser attitude in its future!
