I hope everyone is easing back into the swing of things smoothly.
I know I sound like a broken record, but please slow down and be aware of other drivers, walkers, bikers, etc.
I also ask that each of us do our part in locking our vehicles and being mindful of reporting when cars are rifled through, even if nothing of huge value was taken, the police need this data. I ask that if you are reporting and feel comfortable doing so, please let me know. I want to make sure that CPD is aware and follows up with you. (301-678-3796)
We had a good community conversation at 63rd Place and Joslyn. Many neighbors came out to discuss some activity they were victim to over the summer and we looked for some quick easy fixes and discussed long-term resolutions to other issues.
At this specific intersection, we are looking at increasing lighting to reduce loitering and remove one of the benches that is rotting near the woods.
CPD is increasing their drive around in this area and continues to ask for residents to lock their car doors, have decent lighting on and around their property, and report right away.
We will have another community conversation in the area (likely at the top of the hill) to discuss traffic concerns, public safety and crime, and other issues residents in the area have. Please be on the lookout for that.
Thanks to Police Chief Morris, Assistant Chief Krauss, Sgt. Biler, and Exec Asst. Romero, Town Administrator Galloway and Cheverly Public Works Ms. Prom for joining me last night.
