I decided to make this little tutorial because I just spent a lot of time trying to make automatic subtitles download work in Plex... I finally did it and thought that this might be useful to someone.
Hi! I was hoping someone could please help me with the Sub-Zero subtitle plug-in. I have it enabled and it is synced with my files. I select it under the subtitles while playing a movie but it only shows subtitles when a foreign language is speaking. I searched through all of the settings and cannot seem to find a way to have it show subtitles for the entire movie. Am I missing something too obvious? Thank you!
I tried to refresh all my libraries a couple of times and I exited/opened Emby again but it didn't download any subtitles for a couple of days.
I opened Plex on day 4, clicked on "update library" and had 20 movies / 15 tv-shows of subs downloaded in 3 minutes.
I also tried to download the video and opened it with quicktime. But when you go to View > subtitles there are unfortunately no options available. I am not a video playback expert by any means but I would suspect this is a setting that needs to be enabled on their end before it can be used for students/consumers
The other big addition to this release is that the boxset will also include English subtitles, which for a Japanese anime Blu-ray release is somewhat rare although very much welcomed as the prior 2008 release lacked these.

Thus, you successfully installed and configured the Sub-Zero plugin for Plex to download subtitles automatically. Furthermore, you may want to monitor Plex Usage with PlexPy. Additionally, you may install PlexPy on Ubuntu to monitor Plex Media Server usage. Entropy Zero: Uprising unfortunately does not include any form of closed captions for the generic response system of civil protection units. This is a remnant of vanilla HL2 that simply only didn't include them (but included closed captions for every little thing the citizens/rebels said...). This addon aims to fix it by adding subtitles to these lines.
This addon is actually a port of male07's closed captions mod for HL2, with adjustments made to fit EZ:U's narrative. According to the original description other modders may use his subtitles for their own mods/addons as long as they credit, so here is my variant.
Note: You will start seeing the subtitles around map upr_01_04. A lot of the Uprising metrocops encountered through the game use silent response systems (no subtitles needed) or custom response systems (already subtitled).
- some names, numbers and locations are dynamically assigned, but there is no way to account for that in the subtitle system. As such some subtitles will not 100% match the voice lines in some callouts
