How does Lobe segmentation algorithm works exactly?

Hi everyone. How does Lobe segmentation works in CIP? Has a white paper ever been published about that? I believe it constructs some curvilinear approx based on the given points, but it would be great to know what exact mathematical functions and numerical methods are in use (or what algorithm it uses anyway if my assumption is wrong). I need it because I try to develop a fully-automated lobe segmentation program by combining a fissure detection algorithm and CIP, and I need to know what exactly is going on, ideally a white paper to cite if I'm ever going to publish my results.

Ok I found it myself: Ross JC, San José Estépar R, Kindlmann G, Díaz A, Westin C-F, Silverman EK, Washko GR. Automatic lung lobe segmentation using particles, thin plate splines, and maximum a posteriori estimation. Med Image Comput Comput Assist Interv 2010;13(Pt 3):163-71.
