Hi Chest Imaging Platform Team,

I hope this email finds you well.

I am planning to use one of the CIP extensions, Airway Inspector, for my study analysis. However, I noticed that in the newer versions of 3D Slicer, this extension no longer appears to be included in CIP, and I was unable to locate it in the Extensions Manager. I wanted to check whether this functionality is still supported, or if I may be overlooking the correct location.

If Airway Inspector is still available, could you please advise on how to add or access this extension? If it is no longer supported, I would appreciate any guidance on alternative approaches for generating comparable airway wall-thickness measurements (please see the attached Airway Inspector output fields for reference).

Thank you very much for your time and assistance.

Best,

Yilan

Hi Yilan,

Thank you for reaching out. Yes, the CIP extension is not supported in the newer version of SLicer. However, you can download one of the prior versions from our download page, which already includes CIP.

Here’s the URL: https://www.chestimagingplatform.org/download.html

The Airway Inspector module should be able to read measurements from that file format.

Please let us know if this works for you.

Thanks for reaching out,

Raul

Hi Raul,

I hope this message finds you well.

Just a follow-up question: do you anticipate rolling out a compatible version of Airway Inspector along with the new 3D Slicer releases in the future? Is there a way to perform the same airway analysis in the current (and future) version of the Slicer?

I’ve also copied my PI, Dr. Akshay Gupte, on this email for clarity.

Thank you.

Best,

Yilan
