Scholars students who needed a replacement UID card and have not yet picked it up will be sent the email below later today. Existing cards will be deactivated on Tuesday, February 28 at 9 am, so it is important that all Scholars who received an email about the situation exchange their ID before that time. An additional distribution time has been set up on the north side of campus in Ellicott Diner tomorrow over dinner time (5-8 pm) for students’ convenience.
Anything you can do to reinforce this message and encourage students to act on this in the upcoming week would be greatly appreciated.
If you hear of a student with extenuating circumstances (e.g., study abroad, internship in another state), they can contact Lisa Carroll at the email below to work out arrangements with her directly.
Thanks,
Martha

Dear College Park Scholars Students,
As you know, some of the information encoded onto your student ID was inadvertently shared on a university website under construction. As a result, we have printed you a new student ID card, with your existing UID number and a new magnetic strip at no cost to you. As of this morning, our records indicate that you have not yet picked up your new ID card. In order to do so, you must turn in the old UM ID card which will be deactivated onsite and pick up a new card which we will activate onsite. ID cards can be turned in at the locations below:
If you do not pick your card up by next Monday, your existing card will be deactivated at 9:00 am on Tuesday, February 28. At that point, you will not be able to enter your residence hall or use your dining plan until you pick up your new card.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.
Sincerely,
Lisa Carroll
