I am looking at buying a new chest expander. I currently have the
Ironmind Fabled Cables. They are great for upper body exercises but
suck for lower body work.

I would like to hear input on the Lifeline Chest Expander set vs the
Samson cable set.

I am already going to order the Lifeline Power Jumper for pistols.

Thanks :)

I don't have any personal experience with the Lifeline, or Sampson
chest expanders. I have ordered a Sampson set. However, I do know, from
what I have read in various places that the Sampson set is the best one
available. Also, If you have a long arm span, the Lifeline set will
probabally be too short for you. The Sampson set will stretch as far as
you need to.

As far as lower body exercises, any chest expander can be used to work
these muscles. See my post on "My current exercise routine", and day 3.

Thank you both for the information. Does anyone know what
height/armspan the Lifeline set is good to? I am interested in
ordering a set with a great amount of resistance. This is my primary
method of exercising now along with pistols, bridging etc.

I heard the Samson sets are backordered but I have a number of products
from Mike Brown and the man knows his stuff. Any input on cable sets
from anyone is appreciated.

This seems like a great board.

Thanks

Dan :)

Do you want a run down of the equipment brands, or the actual exercises?

The Gold's Gym, 5 spring chest expander, seems like a good expander
initially. However, after using it for about 6 months, the springs on
it are beginning to develop gaps, and I have stopped using it due to
safety concerns. The problem with it, and many others, seems to be that
the arm span is too short.

Currently, I am using a Tunturi chest expander. They are not produced
currently. I am using expander that I bought about 5 years ago. The
first expanders that I got from the company worked fine. However, the
next time I bought them, the arm span was shroter. Which is why I
ordered a Sampson expander.

I will let you know what I think of the Sampson expander after I have
used it for a while. I do know of someone that has used a Sampson
expander for years, with no problems, and he has a 6'-6" arm span.

When are you doing your radio show?

Right now I am just researching right now for a chest expander segment.

Dave,
You might also want to post this question on another strandpulling
forum. The address is:

Actually, Matt Furley no longer sells expanders. The expander he used
to sell is the Lifeline expander, currently sold on the Lifeline site.

I received my Sampson expander on July 27. Ordered it on June 19. They
were backordered when I ordered mine.

I really like the Sampson set. Right now, my only negative comment is
that the space to change the number of cables could be larger. The
handles other than that, are great. They rotate, and I can put my full
shoe into the handle, up to the arch of the foot, and I have size 14
shoes. There is no problem stretching the cables too far. I would
recommend getting mostly black cables, along with a couple of the 60%
resistance cables, if you are going to get one.
