Preview and play with the hottest new toys and games on the market, meet inventors and enjoy Star Wars Characters (and a Star Wars Breakfast if you sign up via fax by midnight on the 14th), World’s Largest Etch-A-Sketch, Giant Wobble Game from Nickelodeon Europe,  Oscar Mayer Wienermobile, Sports Mascots Toy Drive, entertainment by Radio Disney and more at the Chicago Toy and Game Fair (ChiTAG), Saturday, Nov. 21 and Sunday, Nov. 22 at Chicago’s Navy Pier.


Fairgoers will be able to meet toy and game inventors, including celeb/actresses Daryl Hannah and Hilary Shepard, inventors of Liebrary; Leslie Scott, inventor of Jenga; John Ratzenberger (Cheers, Made In America, all Pixar movies, Dancing with the Stars); Eddy Goldfarb, the inventor of Shark Attack and Yakkity Yak Teeth; Peggy Brown, inventor of Qbitz; Kim Vandenbroucke, inventor of Scattegory Categories and editor at www.TheGameAisle.com and many others.

 

There are many tournaments to win prizes: Monopoly, Settlers of Catan, Top Trumps, Word on the Street and …. Chess Tournaments on Sunday November 21st!


Fair hours are 10 am to 6 pm on Saturday and 10 am to 5 pm on Sunday. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Children under three are admitted free; Scouts in uniform, teachers and librarians are also admitted free of charge. Discounted parking coupons available at ticket booth. There is a coupon for $2 off on the website.


For the third year, ChiTAG, along with sponsors, including the Toy Industry Association, Hasbro, InventNow, Inventor’s Digest and Lund and Company Invention, LLC, will also hold the Young Inventor Challenge. Students 18 and under are invited to submit original game (deadline was extended to November 15th); details are available on the web site at www.chitag.com. Voting for the Young Inventor Challenge winner will take place by popular vote during the fair.


Make a day of it on Saturday and attend the Star Wars Character Breakfast (registration closes November 14th, play at the Fair and stay for the Festival of Lights Parade.
