Dear Chess Folk,
1. I will be attending the Chicago Open chess tournament this weekend (leaving Saturday evening, returning Monday evening). If you know of anyone going to this who might be interested in car-pooling, please give me a call at the number below.
2. We had a great time at the 18-and-Under Chess Tournament this past Monday. Congrats to the winners. Click here to see pictures and results. A special "thank you" to all the helpers who made things work: Emily Arvin, Mrs. Bachus, Mr. Eifert, Mrs. Gyurek, Jeff at Lazy Daze, and Maddie Mitchell (I'm sure I'm forgetting someone; like Mrs. Swinefurth and Mrs. Funk for supporting the club in general!).
3. I am running a USCF-rated tournament on Wednesday, June 10th at the Irvington Public Library. It is open to all (adults and young-adults especially encouraged). Check in at 5:45p, end by 7:45p. Note this is the SECOND WEDNESDAY of June (not the first Wednesday).
Have a nice Memorial Day weekend, and summer!
