A feature that a few users have asked me to is to be able to specify board colours and I'm doing it for Chesspresso v2 right now. What I have decided on however is not to be able to fully customise the board with colour palette, but allow the user to pick pre-defined board colours.

I just need some insiration from someone who as an idea for a colour scheme or 2 :-)

Attached is a copy of the current colour scheme. Here you can see a total of 8 shades of colour, and below is the definition for these colours and their RGB hash values in my configuration. The names of them I hope are pretty self explanatory...

<color name="default_board_white">#F8C898</color>
<color name="default_board_white_border">#F8D8B8</color>
<color name="default_board_black">#D08840</color>
<color name="default_board_black_border">#C89058</color>
<color name="default_board_select_from_position">#AF0000</color>
<color name="default_board_select_to_position">#FF0000</color>
<color name="default_board_select_last_from_position">#555555</color>
<color name="default_board_select_last_to_position">#777777</color>

So anyone up for suggesting a colour scheme? :-)

Thanks all!

I suggest a set of two boards, one green and one blue. RGB 218700 for the dark green squares, RGB 8EED00 for light squares. Blue board RGB 0016E2 dark, RGB 00B3F4 light.

As long as you don't remove the current color scheme from the list, I'm happy :)

Hello,

I post a set of color themes I have collected over the years. I specially like blue theme, as it is soft and allow concentration. Combined with red rectangles of moved piece it looks very well. Anyway I propose to include a few themes to let the user choose what he prefers.

IN RGB
Blue Theme
    Light =  68,  80,  92 (173,204,209 = ADCCD1)
    Dark  =  57,  67,  80 (145,171,204 = 91ABCC)

Light Blue Theme
    Light = 100, 100, 100 (255,255,255 = FFFFFF)
    Dark  =  62,  81,  92 (158,207,235 = 9ECFEB)

Brown Theme 1
    Light = 97, 85, 68 (249, 218, 174 = 615544)
        Dark = 89, 61, 37 (227, 156, 94 = 593D25)

Brown Theme 2
    Light =  80,  70,  60 (204,179,153 = CCB399)
    Dark  =  60,  50,  40 (153,128,102 = 998066)

Grey Theme
    Light =  80,  80,  80 (204,204,204 = CCCCCC)
    Dark  =  65,  65,  65 (166,166,166 = A6A6A6)

Best regards
Fer
