Planning for our August 5 Splash-in at Philadelphia is happening. The grounds look terrible and that's a good thing! The $9 million refurbishment of the historical Lazaretto house has begun in earnest, so construction equipment and fencing abound. But, we have room for 6 or 7 planes on the grass still and we plan to have provide lunch for pilots that chose to fly in. We'll smooth the gravel ramp and it should be in good shape, especially for those incredibly nimble Seareys that seem to have not issues with it. The floating doc can accommodate one or two planes.

The floating doc is in good shape and can accommodate a couple aircraft. The gravel ramp will be smoothed and cleared and should be good during mid to high tide. High tide is around noon on event day, so the best window for ramp use is 10AM-2:00PM. (Rain date: 11AM-3:00PM Sunday)

The refurbishing of the historic Lazaretto quarantine station has begun. The site might be a little bit messy with construction equipment and fencing. The cement porch and awning have been demolished and trees in front taken down. Improvements to the seaplane base facilities, marina and grounds are likely to be at least a year away.
