I hope the New Year has started off well for everyone as we look forward to warmer weather and the start of seaplane season here along the mid-atlantic. For some of you the spring season has already started and will continue into the new year safely. Lets kick off the season with a splash-in at Tavares, America’s Seaplane City. Attached you will find an email for Cheri Moan the Special Events Coordinator about the 2020 Seaplane-A-Palooza. It gives you an overview of the event and has the registration form for those who will be attending. It is an outstanding event in which the whole town participates with events, discounts and outstanding hospitality. This past year they had over 40 aircraft of all flavors fly into the event, we had several aircraft from our group fly down to the event and several others who drove down. I plan on flying down with the Maule and Bill Fosdick in his Legend Cub on the 27th. We usually leave on the 26th with a stop in Myrtle and then depart the next morning with a fuel stop at St Simmons. If you would like to fly down, we could meet up and fly into the event as a flight. The plan is to leave on the 30th and head to Lake Land and SnF.
If you would like to join in on the fun please fill out the attached registration form and let Cheri know you are coming. Let me know if you have any questions and plan on attending.

Greetings & Happy New Year from “America’s Seaplane City! 😊

We are pleased to invite you to our 2020 SEAPLANE-A-PALOOZA, to be held at the Tavares Seaplane Base on Saturday, March 28th & 29th 2020.

We will have marshals on the apron, docks & shoreline to receive inbound aircraft starting at 10am. Attached to this email is the registration packet and itinerary for the event. We encourage you to register in advance as contest spots will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Simply complete the registration form included in the attached packet and return it to me via email (cm...@tavares.org). Pilots can also register at the event but please keep in mind that contest spots are limited. If you would like to fly in but do not want to participate in the contest, please submit a registration form in order to receive your pilot gift.

The required pilot’s meeting for contest participants will be held at 1:00pm. At 11:25am the National Anthem will kick off the event which will be conducted under the supervision of our Air Boss. If you didn’t make it to Monster Splash last October then you may have not yet met our new Aviation Manager, Kendall Clutts. Kendall is looking forward to meeting you all and experiencing his first SEAPLANE-A-PALOOZA!

Again, please review the attached flyer for more information. To register for the SEAPLANE-A-PALOOZA Fly-In, whether you’re competing or not, simply send in your registration page via email. If you have questions, please feel free to email or call or visit www.tavares.org for more information.

Lastly, you received this email because you previously attended a seaplane event at the Tavares Seaplane Base or you asked to be included on our seaplane event notification list. If you would no longer like to receive email notifications for our seaplane events, simply reply with a short email to say you’d like to be removed from the list and we will discontinue our event emails.

Safe Flying,
