I have been working with Helen Woods to include some of the information from her Chesapeake site with the Virginia site. I have updated the VSPA site with splash-in locations and updated training information. I will continue to update the photo and video section with photos/videos from her site and any other photos/videos anyone would like to submit. The one question I would like to get feed back on is whether you would like to have member information included on the site. Helen had a closed site for the member information but I have not been able to do that with the current site. I have the information on the 40 or so members that were on her site and could make a member page on the new site. The information includes picture, name, N numbers and contact info. I understand that some may not want the information public. On the other hand it is a good avenue for anyone interested in seaplane operations of a certain type to be able to contact someone with that particular aircraft. If the consensus is not to publish then I will not put the information out there.
Helen and some of the members of the group put together so great PIREPS on splash-in sites along the bay. If you know of any locations that are seaplane friendly submit some pictures and a short narrative and I will include it. Spring is right around the corner and we are looking to put together a list of splash-in, Last summer was pretty productive, with Lake Anna, Don Maxwell, Colonial Beach and Essington, we are always on the lookout for other location. The website is an ongoing project and I am not a webmaster, so if you have any comments or suggestions for additional information or how to improve it, it would be appreciated.
