Talked to Shannon at the Dockside Restaurant and Tiki Bar at Colonial Beach (docksidetikibar.com) to try and arrange a late summer splash-in. I know that we have a busy schedule in August and it seems they do also. Don's splash-in is Aug 10th and the Hyatt is the 17th. This just leaves Aug 24/25 which is also open on the Dockside calendar. Last year we had a great event arranged by Mike Pearson, with 15 aircraft flying in. The staff at the restaurant were very helpful and everyone had a great time. I hope to make the same type of arrangements with the restaurant and have a area just for those of us flying in. We had several inquiries by local residents after the event stating they wish they had known about the event so they could come and view the aircraft and talk to the pilots, so I am gonna ask the staff to put it on their calendar and social media accounts like they do for their other events. Please take a look at your calendars and see if that weekend would work for everyone interested and let me know. We have a active group of pilots and friends, lets keep the summer momentum going and raise seaplane awareness.

Thanks

Steve
