Hello,

Despite my efforts, the local gifted plan passed with the addtion of
the teacher endorsement "goal". I will be resigning from the committee
after six years because administration has refused to provide me with
information that I have requested to review the program (my duty as a
committee memeber) nor have any of my or the chairpersons (parent)
suggestions been utilized. CPS administration and myself have several
difference of opinions as to what is important for the gifted program
and its implementation. I disagree with many decisions that are made
and have been very vocal regarding these concerns. The situation over
the past several months has being shocking and unacceptable to me. The
definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and
expecting a different result. I hope that progress will continue to be
made within the gifted program. My knowledge, skills, and abilities
can be utilized better elsewhere.

Deborah,
I applaud your efforts and am frustrated for us all that CPS has not had a
bolder vision for the Gifted Program. I understand your resignation. It
usually feels much better when you stop hitting your head against a wall.
Thanks for all of your work for our children these past many years.

Oh MY GOODNESS! Deborah ! ! !
Well, I can understand your frustration (s)!

Thank you so much for your efforts & drive for the past six years, my how time flies.
I havent been vocal in this prgrm for about the past 4 yrs, due to the "Gifted" dughtr, outgrew the prgrm, (As u know, nothing in Hi schl for gifted but honors classes, for my now 10th grdr & other dughtr, missed being pegged as "Gifted" by just, just 3 points! Oh well!
But she is now in honors classes in Jr High! 7th grdr.

I just dont know what to say/write, but I'm sure you will seek & find another "good cause" that will prosper with your gentle guidance & steering.
Thank you again for ALL, ALL, ALL those hours & mtgs u've attended over the past six years. YOU . . . . . .WILL. . . . . . BE. . . . . .MISSED!
Best Wishes, Brenda Glemzu

Thanks for your dedication! I'm so sorry that it was so incredibly frustrating, and I'm even more sorry that I got involved so late in the game. I appreciate everything you did to try to make a difference.

Thank you for all the energy and time that you have given to better our educational system.  It all comes down to priorities and money.  When we give more importance to playing ball than investing in our most promising minds, there is a problem.  Then we wonder why we need to import foreign brain power.

Good luck in your future projects, we will miss your outspoken voice and passion.
