Thanksgiving beta release, and it's a big one

This version I still consider beta and has the following features:
1. Uses new data source, same as the yahoo stock widget
2. All preferences are now working
3. Corrected the update timer, people have been telling me the last version would not auto update
4. No update (code not price) option anymore. With all the .mac web pages going away next summer I'm deprecating this feature.
O and one more thing. I now do silver price now!!!! And that's not it, Palladium and Platinum as well. For years people have asked me for silver, I should have dropped the people at http://dgcsc.org years ago. So how do you have both gold and silver prices? Just open the widget twice, and set one of them to use the silver in the new "commodity" drop down on the preference panel. To change to look to the silver coin, pick silver from the "set" drop down.
Future:
So what do I have planned for the future? Well, I made these recent changes just to keep the widget up and going, but you guys have really stuck with me and the demand for the widget has been so great that I can't just leave you guys hanging. Maybe it's time to rewrite the widget and stream line some of the features. The current widget has a lot of code that keeps it compatible with the Konfabulator version that I wrote years ago and I have little interest in continuing. It may be time to just throw everything away and starting from scratch but before I do that I want to get some input from the community and see what features are actually needed and wanted. To do this, you could just email me your thoughts, but then it could get lost and I would like to see something more public, some discussions, so maybe we can talk first about where we should "hang out" on the web. There are several choices:
1. Facebook page - easy?
2. Google Group (http://groups.google.com/group/cherry-software) - current
3. I still do Google Wave
4. Could set up a http://wikkii.com/ account
About this email:
I maintain a list of people in my address book and BCC everyone on that list when I have announcements to make. This is a manual process, I use no service for emailing people. If you want off my list, email me and I will gladly remove you. There is no excuse for spam and I work very hard to not be considered as such.
