Cherokee

The recent rain
showers have certainly been a blessing to folks in the Cherokee area. It
is amazing and wonderful how quickly things can go from being dry and
parched to lush and green.
The older youth from the Baptist Church in
Cherokee spent the last week at Glorietta, NM and gave a presentation and a
wonderful puppet show this past Sunday night on all they experienced during
this week. The presentation and puppet show was very inspiring and we
could easily imagine how inspiring it must have been to actually experience
Glorietta in person. Hopefully, we will have a full report and
photos on the Glorietta trip next week!
The CIA group from the Baptist
Church had a spaghetti lunch fundraiser after the morning worship service
yesterday. A scrumptious variety of spaghetti was served along with various
side dishes, garlic breads, salads and a wonderful array of desserts! The
event was well attended.
Barker Land Company (
www.barkerlandcompany.com) reports
that real estate in the area is selling quickly. As I recall, a recent
report stated that Lampasas County just east of us is the fastest growing county
in the United States. I don't think there is any question about whether
our area will be growing as well, as pretty and as well located as our area
is.
Everyone please keep in mind the economic development initiatives that
Sherry Heath is pursuing. Currently, she is asking for input
from the community, what interest or comments you would have in this; good, bad
or indifferent , in order to establish a base to proceed with the undertaking of
this goal. We would like to know that we have everyone's support!!!
