AndroidStudio (1.2 RC0) keeps telling me Error running android: Gradle project sync failed. Please fix your project and try again. How can I find out what the problem is? Unfortunately the solutions from this SO thread did not help.

Just ignore the error and try running the project anyway. It will fail, but this time you will get a link in the error description. Clicking the link will trigger the automatic update/download of the outdated/missing component.

it looks different from one situation to another.for me i did an installation and update a lot of things that the sdk manager said to then i had this problem.all i did was:from file -> Invalidate caches/Restart(a dialog will pop-up) choose Invalidate and restart.

after the restart is done. everything was fixed but i needed to create a new emulator and delete the old one.(android studio 1.3.1)(one professional must edit this to be more understandable)...Here everything was fine, but your machines also needs restart because some system files are changed, to sync them we have to restart the system.

Then I clicked the "Sync Project with Gradle Files" button on the toolbar. The Sync output window offered an option to "Update Plugins" and once I clicked through that everything seemed to work. For good measure I again clicked "Sync Project with Gradle Files" followed by Build --> Clean Project, and finally I was able to run my project again.

If your got timeout, Check Gradle Scripts -> gradle.properties in Android Studio, I found that I do have set a socket proxy in Android Studio settings, but in this gradle.properties file, my proxy became to http, so I just removed this http proxy setting lines, and finally works.

It could be that you are using gradle in offline mode.To uncheck it go to File > Settings > Gradle, uncheck the Offline Work checkbox, and click ApplyMake sure you have internet connection and sync the project again.

It was yelling at me about a line in my xml file (which was perfectly valid and never had problems the entire time I've worked on the project). I deleted the line and even after running again and cleaning and rebuilding it kept yelling at me about the completely blank line. I restarted android studio and removed the .gradle folder and it finally worked. Hopefully someone in my shoes that had all of the other answers in this thread fail them will see this answer and save a few hours.

I had this problem (clicked a prompt to "sync with gradle" on my perfectly valid and working project and it killed everything) and I researched for hours trying to figure out how to fix this, including this thread among many others. I finally found my solution, so hopefully, it'll help somebody (and hopefully they fix this terrible system)

I encountered this in a unique situation: had refactored the word "time" to "distance" for one of my variables. And when I did the refactor, accidentally had it change the name of one of my gradle dependencies / implementations.

I'm having trouble getting map areas to package for offline use in Field Maps. I've uploaded a series of blank datasets and some datasets that have features, and one that has two related tables. All the layers are published to the same organization with the same privileges and settings required for offline use, but no matter if I use Field Maps or the AGOL tool to try and create an offline area, it always fails.

Some things off the top of my head that are good to check: the map must have at least one editable layer, the layers must have sync enabled (even if they aren't editable), and you can't have duplicate layers in the web map.

I use basic Evernote and sync across my laptop & iPhone. This morning I downloaded the newest version of Evernote and now when I try to sync my notes, I get the following error message: Sync failed due to unexpected behavior at client side.

I was also experiencing this on my Windows machine with the windows client. In my case, it turned out to be an issue with shared notebooks. (notebooks from a different account that were shared with this one). I removed the shared notebooks from my account and then re-added them and now the error has gone away.

I did submit a support ticket before figuring this out myself, and did not get any useful information at all. The response was all about the password reset thing and really looked like they didn't bother to actually read the problem. But I'd still suggest submitting a support ticket as well if the shared notebook thing doesn't work

sschertz - Interesting, this seemed to work for me too. No idea why, and I'm hoping I can re-add the shared notebooks. If that doesn't work, I'll definitely submit a support ticket. Thanks for the tip!

It's probably a problem with a note that is in a shared notebook. Deleting the note should fix the problem; or if you can't figure out which note it is, you can unlink yourself from the shared notebook and then have the notebook's owner re-invite you.

This problem may have more than one cause but my solution turned out to be deleting the URL reference to Catch that seemed to be associated with some of my notes. The line I'm talking about is in the upper left hand corner underneath "Click to set author . . ." in the Windows version. Once I deleted those the android version of Evernotes synced up with the Windows version. Needless to say, I moved my notes from Catch over to Evernote. I don't remember how I did it but (Copy and Paste?) but both Catch and Evernote use the same gmail account so that may be the issue and Catch very recently went out of business - the end of August I think, and that is about when I started having sync problems.

I had this same problem as well. It was on my work PC, which is Windows 7. At the same time, I had no issues with my MacBook or my iPhone. I thought it was wierd that I could sync elsehwhere, but just not on the PC.

I tried all the things suggested in this thread. I opened a ticket with EN. They suggested a handful of things, but meanwhile, while they were trying to figure it out, I remember that IE got upgraded to 10. I don't even use IE expect for one work application that requires it.

Just a quick note on this error. I just had the same issue. Turns out my issue was I converted some older notebooks to local. The same note books were trying to sync from the site and as a result caused the error. Just login to your Evernote account and delete the notebooks, then you can sync without an error.

I am now having this problem on a Win 7 notebook. I tied everything that was suggested and still will not sync. There is probably a note snagging it somewhere, but I have no idea how to troubleshoot that. I am on the latest version.

Moreover, I thought to unlink the shared notebook and back, BUT I will risk to loose the notes I added after the "locking note" because those are currently not uploaded on the account and are not synced.

For those of you whom completed the delete/ reinstall...... my concern is I just imported some 1000+ files and have been trying to sync... how can I be sure those files are now part of my DB if I am having the error... I dont want to go and delete all of this, resync and not have those new data files.. Thouights? I deas? I opened a ticket but did not see where I could attach my activity log to show the errors I am getting

"Nope" is on the right track here, but needs to look a couple more lines up in the log file. The issue is most likely the notebook that the "xxxxxxxxxx" note is trying to access. If you see a notebook 4-5 lines above the:

Same issue for me as well. Removed the shared folder (both locally and online) but it didn't work. I don't have IE installed so that isn't the issue either. Uninstalling and reinstalling unforuntately didn't do it either.

After a lot of heart ache waiting for a response from Evernote and trying to fix it myself it was as simple as emptying the trash folder and then clicking the sync button. All fixed! Can't believe it was that simple!

I just encountered the same error, but for me it was as simple as restarting the application. Of course when you exit out of the app make sure that it does not sit in the background. A simple reboot of pc would do too.

I've been having this problem for a few weeks. I then started to try and delete what I thought was causing the problem. Then I found this forum and read the above quoted "helps". After checking out "Help">"Activity Log". I realized that it already knew what the problem was. But I distinctly remembered deleting the problem note. Thus the boneheaded step I forgot to do, EMPTY THE TRASH!! After I emptied the trash, all was well and happy in Evernote land. Thanks for the tips. Hopefully my little reminder to empty the trash will help someone else.
