Hi,

For a production environment, which kind of Hadoop cluster setup helps the best? Why and How?

1, Hadoop ecosystem on CentOS (or other Linux) systems

or

2, Hortonworks sandbox multi node cluster?

Thanks,
Shenthil

Above links , we have already discussed your question posted by some other members of the group.
with respect to OS, Most of the Hadoop distribution vendors support most of the OS falvours. RHEL is mostly used in production due to its support. I always use CentOS till staging and my favorite too.

Thanks

Thanks Senthil,

Being a trainee, I felt setting up Hadoop in the natural (from hdfs tar till Oozie) way gives more control over it than the other ready made products! I can understand that the support we get is a factor using ready made products but it has its price!

Considering original Hadoop ecosystem installed in a company, how good they can get support from other Hadoop user groups?
