Hi,

Jan 5 is good for me as well.
For pre-configured Hadoop, could we not use Cloudera's version?

Hi Senthil,

Let's add some potential POC ideas that we can pursue. Coding on individual projects in small teams will be the most useful exercise for everyone.
Just attending sessions will not make anyone think in MR terms. It is not looking at examples but at actually solving exercise questions that one gets to understand maths.

If people agree with this point then please start posting some POC ideas for which some big data is available.

Thanks.

Hi,

we prefer to go with plain vanilla hadoop itself.
There are some constraints comes while we go with cloudera or hourtonworks solutions.
Once people are comfortable with apache version, its easy to use other versions

Binish

Vaibhav

For POC, please post your ideas. Others also can post it up. Make it simpler.
We will create teams probably 3 or 4 in the next meetup. After a discussion, each team will work with one usecase of their choice.
Will lay some rules for the work.

Please start posting it as much as you can. we will try to select few from them.

Thanks
Senthil

An usecase for seminar attendees information catalog mainatainennce where we may like finding

1.       how many people who attended Dec 15th are going to attend Jan 5th session .

2.       How many people have provided help in preparing next session agenda

3.       How many participants are already working in hadoop environment and how many are new to this.

Hi Senthil,

I would like to suggest a simple use case.. Its all about maintaining a Global Chip card...

Scenario is all this way:
For providing a global chip card to a particular customer we need to analyse three factors
1. His debt amount
2. His Account Balance
3. His report from an authority of America which has scores of that particular customer.

Based on these three factors we will say Y or N in the Global Chip card Ind field.

Ip data
Acct_Number  debt amt      Act Balance  Scores
1234565           $7000           1Million$     95

Op data
Acct_Number  debt amt      Act Balance  Scores  Global_Chip_IND
1234565           $7000           1Million$     95         Y

In the above ip data based on theser three conditions the Global_Chip_IND is marked Y.
If not it wil be marked N.

Hope this will be useful.

Thanks
Nagu.
