Visa process

guess its time we start a thread for visa related query and how to go
about it....everyone just chip in your thoughts regarding what would
be the best possible date to schedule visa interviews, hw many of u
have already payed visa fee and sevis fee...etc...wat documents u r
plannin to show in ur visa interview and wats the exact amount for
which funds should be shown during visa interview etc....

Folks,

 

I had my VI today at Chennai. Got a 221 (g). Any idea how long it will take to get my Visa? What is the next step?
 
What could be the reason?
- PhD?
- I-20 states major as "Computer and Information Sciences and S"?
- I said my research interests are in optimization and numerical methods?

i got my admit letter on march 31st and mailed them bk my acceptance letter on april 7th...later got my i 20 on may 4 or 5th i guess....so takes around 20 to 30 days...hope that helps
