Visa interview experience

Hey ppl,
Had my VI at 8 45 today mornin.and I got ma visa approved..thought i
would share ma experience...
Joined the q outside the consulate at 8...was allowed in by 8
15...then I was asked to join a q inside for puttin ur docs in their
file...(they take ur appointment letter, dso form, hdfc blue
receipt,sevis fee receipt, I20, Gre, toefl score cards and ur course
completion certi and of course ur passport).....from there i was
directed to another counter where i had my interview(very simple just
a formality)
Me:Good Morning Sir..
VO:Good mornin (keeps typin somethin:p)
VO: So y georgia tech??
Me: Sir, My are of interest is power systems and extensive research is
goin on at Georgia in this field...Also the facilities there are state
of the art...
VO: What was ur percentage at college
Me: We have somethi called GPA sir and my overall CGPA was ...
VO: How u gonna fund urself??
ME: Parents, apart from that I also have a loan..
VO: loan,what surity do u hav for the loan??
Me:Told him abt the properties I have...
VO:Ur visa is approved...ul receive ur passport in 2-3 days time...
Me:Thanks u...Have a nice day sir...
VO:U too:)

hey kailash, had a few doubts while fillin up d ds160 form..

 

wat r v supposed to write for the contact person that we know in us?(did u give d address of georgia tech)

well for the contact person in the US and for the address where im gonna stay on landin, i gave the address of one of my friends in Georgia....

u can give the address of georgia tech for the place of stay in US if not decided yet...

Experience:
(I had got my B1 visa rejected last December and this time its the same interviewer. I thought WTF)

Your i20 shows expenses for one year as 44k and you seem to have shown 57k for getting the i20? How are you planning to cover the rest of the expenses?
Sir we have enough saving in the bank to cover two years of my study. I have the documents for that. I can show them to you. (No loan)
No. Not needed.

Your visa has been approved. You will get it in 2-3 days.

Did not ask for any docs except for the ones Kailash told they will put in their file initially. But make sure you have all of them with you ready. Dont leave out any.

@Ramya, I had put "Alan Glass" and address in the i20 as the contact in US in DS-160.

@ram,kailash: i came up this column asking us to explain about our duties in DS 160 form. what exactly are v supposed to write der?

also i have an uncle who is a green card holder but is not residing inUS(he is in dubai). he jus visits US every 6 months once(he owns a house there though). In d DS 160 form der is a question askin whether we hv any relatives(apart frm immediate relatives) residing in us. wat am i supposed to enter here? yes or a no?

iam worried coz he is funding my education too.

Duties. Its only for the ones who have work-exp. I just wrote briefly, in a single sentence on what I was doing (I would say dont use much of technical terms here)

are we supposed to take a colour print out of the confirmation page of DS 160(the one with our photo) or will a black n white print out do?
