This is the mail sent to me by my mentor do read it carefully.

Dear All,

If you will have noticed, there is a notice on the department notice-board, about giving a amount of Rs 1000/- to the Chemical Engg Association and also refers to with-holding of clearance and degree if you do not turn in that amount. Please note that this donation is completely voluntary and has got nothing to do with receiving your degree. So,pay only if you are interested, otherwise not. And, if it so happens that no-one wants to pay, then all of you 2nd years can jointly write a letter to the HOD, stating so, and each of you signing it.
