Neogi Sir:
Which subject in chemical engineering do you like most? (Ans: Fluid & Reaction Engineering)
1. Derive Navier-Stokes equation?
2. Is there any assumption in the derivation of Navier-Stokes?
3. What is vena-contracta?
4. What are various types of pumps?
5. Draw characteristic curves of pump?
6. What is NPSH?
7. Which pump will you choose when you require high head and low flow?
8. What are homogeneous and heterogeneous reactions?
9. Write an homogeneous reaction?
10.What is difference between molecularity and order?
11.What is pseudo first order reaction?
12.What is fermentation?
13.In biochemical engineering why do we prefer batch reactor?
14.What is the difference between pfr and cstr?

Padmanabhan  Sir:
Which subject are you studying this sem?
1. Write Navier-Stokes equation and describe its various terms?
2. When left side of Navier Stokes equation can be neglected and when right side?
3. Stokes flow?
4. Dimensionless Number associated with stokes flow?
5. What is Boundary layer?
6. When in a pipe, boundary layer can be neglected? (Ans: When Reynolds number is very high i.e. velocity is very high)
7. What is glass transition temperature?
8. What is the diff. between thermoplastic and thermoset?
9. Why thermoset materials can't  be remolded? (Ans: Cross-linking and Entanglement)
10. Few questions from distillation column....one of them was: What is the importance of Reflux Drum? (Ans: Pressure Control)

JKB Sir:
Same as Wardhane

S.Ray sir's questions same as Debashis. Also:
1) Method to find flow rate in an effluent stream? (A: Weir) Type used and why?
2)What is cascade control?
Swati Neogi: More of the same. Also some dimensionless numbers with derivation and significance.

S. Sengupta:
Almost the same.
1)Fick's laws.

1. Unit  of heat transfer coefficient, mass transfer coefficient.
2. Overall heat transfer co-eff ? he wrote U=  (and then said to complete the eq)
3. Dirt factor & how it is taken into account in U.??
4. Conduction & convection
5. Nu no. ?? & what no. in mass transfer is analogous to Nu no.
6. Which no. is equal to f/2 ?
7. Kirchoff law for radiation.
8. Shape factor definition & equation, why we calculate shape factor..??
9. Laws of crushing, equations; Work Index.
10. What is physical method to calculate h (I told a lot of ways but he told to give the expression he had given in HT course..??

PAD:
1. Showed me vander waal's equation of state & asked name of the eq..??
2. How will u solve for a & b if only this eq. is given.?? What if a large no. of set of P,V,T values are given..??
3. How will u solve for volume..? what method u can use.?? i said bisection method and secant method. He then ask difference between them and how will u use..?? i showed in graph
4. then he asked what is newton raphson method..??
5. which is faster.?
6. if newton raphson is faster then why we use bisection or secant method..??
7. Why sometimes newton raphon method fail to converge..??
8. what is the probability to get answer with zero error using bisection method.?? 100%

DM:
He asked what courses u hav done
1. What is Newtonian Fluid and Non Newtonian fluid?
2. asked how Stress Vs Strain curve of newtonian fluid will look like ? i said st line; Then he drew many st lines and asked whether they all r newtonian.??
3. Semi-infinite plate with insulated walls on three sides is initially at a temperature To and the fourth side is brought in contact with a source which is maintaining its temp at T1. How do you solve it? (Assumptions -> Governing Equation -> IC's -> Boundary conditions ) Can u solve this equation analytically? i said yes... then he asked How?
he wanted to ask ques from petro,, so asked me hav u done petro course..?? i said no. He again asked what courses u hav done
4. Draw feedback and feedforward control loop
5. How is feed forward controller different from Feedback? What is transfer function? Feed forward is correcting anticipated disturbances then why don't we prefer feedforward?
6. what is Transfer Function?
7. Equation which is used in both thermo & fluid? i said energy conservation. then he asked the name of equation in fluid & thermo..??
8. Laws of crushing and equatiions?
