"Society of Petroleum Engineers, IIT KGP Student Chapter Recruitments 2013-14"

Society of Petroleum Engineers IIT Kharagpur Chapter is affiliated to SPE International  helping students learn about the energy industry, meeting experts and Networking. Society Of Petroleum Engineers , IIT Kharagpur Student Chapter is conceived with an idea to provide a platform for the students involved in the area of petroleum and allied industries with the twin objectives of knowledge creation and providing Summer/Winter Internships to them in petroleum industry.

We offer students the opportunity to network with company representatives, other like minded students, researchers and IIT Kgp faculty . We also host a number of events throughout the academic year including general meetings, guest lectures of eminent leaders from the energy industry and academia, case studies,quizzes, field visits , and other similar events.

Our Past activities include:-

1- Schlumberger Intern talk- Helping students get summer intern at Schlumberger and other oil and gas companies

2- International Case study at “Great Step 2012”

3- Petro Case study competition during KTJ 2013 in associtaion with GAIL and L&T Gulf.

4- Oil Field quiz competition hosted by Schlumberger experts 

5      Ambassador Lecture Program by ONGC-Cairn India Joint Venture

6      Workshop on 'Refinery and Simulation Processes' by IOCL in association with "CHEMINSIGHT 2013'

We have planned to organize the 1st ever Petroleum oriented Fest of IIT Kharagpur in October helping our students community to take a step ahead in Industry. You as a member will get the 1st hand experience to organize the fest and interact with companies like Cairn India, Schlumberger ,ONGC,GAIL,Haliburton,IOCL etc.
