Scientifically oriented question - What is the estimated size of an oil molecule?
Evidence - The diameter of the oil molecule is 92mm. Knowing that I was able the volume, 0.524 mm^3, and the area 6647.61 mm^2.
Explanation - Knowing the formulas for the volume of a sphere ( V=3/4*pi*r^3) and the area of a circle ( pi*r^2). I was able to find them because I knew the diameter.
Connection - We are learning about finding exact data by making exact measurements and calculations. By doing this lab I was able to take my knowledge from notes and worksheets and put them in a real life setting.
Communication - You can communicate this by reviewing over our Accuracy and Precision Activity with our peers to make sure we are all on the same page and understand what we are doing.
Reflection - I worked in a group with Annie, Katie and Alexis. Working in a group really helps because when one person is stuck usually at least one person knows how to do it. Katie is very good with calculations and so she helped us with that and we all had a hand in the actual setting up and partaking in the experiment.
