Myers Open House, October 14th, and New District Email Lists

The District, on their NEW website, has announced that it will hold an
community open house for the New Myers Elementary on October 14th.

Also, anyone can sign up to receive news from the District or any
school. Visit http://www.cheltenham.org/emailsignup.cfm for details.
We're told that additional lists will be added in time, so that
individual programs or departments might also be able to share their
news. This is a fantastic step, so please share this with everyone.

There are many new features on the District website, including a
greatly improved calendar that can be linked to your own calendar
through an iCal interface, if you have one. Many online calendars and
mobile devices do.

Finally, we expect to phase out special email notices in favor of
using this group list for distribution. It is easier for folks to
control their access themselves and, as such, will make UPG's job
easier so we can focus on what we should be doing. We expect that the
District's increased emphasis on communications will significantly
reduce the number of UPG messages for events and we encourage everyone
to sign up here and there for the news you feel you most need.
