Hi everybody,
Finishing up this spring's NeighborWood tree planting this Sunday...
We have 47 chestnut trees to get in the ground! Let's see how many we can do. Probably not all, but maybe at least half? We plan to have the locations marked and compost and wood chips placed next to each location. On Sunday, it's going to be digging and planting.
We want to start at 12:00 noon on Sunday the 22nd.
Location if you don't already know it: 5601 Conway Rd., Chelsea MI 48118
As usual, we will be firing up the earth oven and we will have pizza. Dough, sauce, cheese, and some toppings will be provided. Please try to bring at least one topping of you own, in addition.
Last time, people got to take home strawberry plants. This time, we plan to have some chocolate mint plants for you.
Tell other people who might be interesting in the community. It's a good way -- though informal -- to be introduced to the overall project. For those of us who have been to the site before, it's a great time to continue the discussion as we work and eat.
Weather looks almost perfect: Partly sunny, high of 60, with well-moistened soil from recent rain. Hope to see you there!
Patrick
